Chemical and Metallurgical Laboratory owes responsibility to provide quality services to our customers with great attention and accountability. Highlighting our role and versatility in the working of Railways, it deserves to be named as “Quality Backbone of Indian Railways”.
In last decade, with ever increasing pace of technical advancements and indispensable need for high speed transportation (Public or Freight) has pushed railways to think beyond their traditional boundaries and envisaged to introduce competitive & affordable services. In order to maintain the operational safety with competitiveness in terms of quality, quantity and cost with an eye on environmental concerns, qualitative up gradation has taken a centre stage in designing and fabrication of new locomotives, carriages and wagons with aided capacity. Since, it is well known that rate of production is inversely proportional to the degree of quality, it is essential to maintain a certain degree of specified quality. With the introduction of new policy of high-speed and specialized services such as Dedicated Freight & Industrial Corridors, semi-high speed Vandebharat and futuristic Bullet train services to support the sustainable industrial revolution, it is important to maintain pace qualitatively and quantitatively. Alternatively, it is simultaneously an opportunity and a challenge for us to contribute effectively to the growth of the country with a more strong and sensitive transport system for our citizens.
